BEAR + TORI

Deep in the heart of Louisiana, Bear and Tori said their vows at Race and Religious in New Orleans. The vibe in my clients words were “swamp chic” — meaning an elevated, sculptural design, funky elements, while still adding a subtle nod to our environment deep in the south using spanish moss, hanging ivy, and draping smilax. Built in 1836, this once private residence is flooded with vintage chateau antiques, draping in charm, historial, and art. You can truly feel the many lives this home has lived.

Tori’s bouquet is one of my favorite designs to date. Texture, texture, and even more texture. Delicate calla lilies, muted maroon anthurium, tied in with grasses, cascading spanish moss and amaranths, accented with date palm pods to bring in a unique construct. Each bridesmaid by her side held a single stem anthurium, all variating in diverse colors to accent their attire.

Floral pops of bright red, green hues, and soft olive tones scattered throughout the venue— below Betty’s Pool Hall neon sign, the cocktail bar— every nook and cranny.

New Orleans— you inspire me.
